Our latest acquisition from Moniker

We are now the proud owners of this piece from Moniker Art Fair. The 7 colour screen print called The colour of money is by Beejour and was printed by our good friends at Jealous.

Group show at Hospital Club

Second on the list for Thursday 13th saw us at a special opening of a group show on the ground floor of the gallery of Hospital Club. Another fantastic show hosted by Factory Project. Some truly outstanding work by some gifted artists, most of whom were in attendance on the night.

This was my fav piece; Untitled

Unsure who the artist was, but it was so current that all the paintings 

in the pic were in perfect mirror position on the walls reflected

Dale Grimshaw - Semi-detached opening

Went to the opening of the Dale Grimshaw show Semi-detached at Signal Gallery in Shoreditch on 6th Nov. Wonderful start to a night of first thursday madness with the usual suspects. Got to meet up with Dale and have a complimentary print signed by him while we chatted.

The exhibition was pretty dark, covering his early years growing up with an abusive father, but the art was spectacular, and Dale is a real skillsman. Much thanks to Dale, Signal and firstthursdays.

Fin DAC at ONE opening - Underdog gallery

Last thursday saw the opening of ONE, a group show at underdog gallery in London Bridge. Great show with some outstanding work. Check it out if you're down there in the next few weeks...

Meeting of styles 2011

Sadly postponed from it's August schedule due to the riots etc, MOS has been re-booked for Saturday 8 October, and should be a cracker. These events have been getting better and better, so definitely put down your tools and come along to check out the live paint on sat, or the finished result on the sun...

Here's what the organisers have to say about this years event:
End of the Line presents the British edition of Meeting of Styles with it’s 4th event in London. This annual event has grown from 15 artists and one main wall in it’s first year to a full scale outdoor block party and street exhibition in 2010.  Part of a global calendar of events which  produce the biggest aerosol and graffiti jam in the world.


London street festival, block party vibe, BBQ, Beats, and Bar with aerosol artists painting live throughout the weekend. 2011 Location // The Studios, Holloway Road Daytime Event // Saturday // Midday – 8pm Aerosol & Graffiti Showcase 60 handpicked artists painting walls, canvases, and boards through out the day to a backdrop of HipHop, reggae, Ska and more. We were lucky enough to get on the guest list for last fridays Factory Project at Red Bull Studios down in London Bridge. Great night of live painting, bands, art auctions and, of course, free bar. The night was hosted by Graffik Gallery, and we're going to another of these nights at their gallery in Portobello tonight (but that's another story).

Highlight of the night was meeting Fin DAC, an outstanding spray can artist, and a totally lovely bloke to boot. We loved the 2 works he had on exhibition (C215 inspired as they are friends and have worked together in France last year), and watching his live paint was inspiring. The thing that struck me about Fin was his friendly and informative nature - he would stop painting to answer questions and pose for photos, even as the deadline loomed.

Caught up with him and his girlfriend at the afterparty at Hospital Club in Covent Garden, and was surprised to learn that he only started spraying around 3 years ago.

Much respect Fin, you are a true genius.
