It's been a while...

Sorry folks, been a long while since I posted up anything, and I'm not gonna make any excuses except for I was away in NZ for a month, then in Wales, then working full-on on a magazine for a friend, but in the meantime, here's a few nice pics from some friends around the world...

Bristol for the weekend

Headed over to bristol with some mates on friday night for Roger's stag weekend, which involved a lot of drinking and mischief, along with equal amounts of quad bike racing, hovercrafting, clay pigeon shooting and archery. Also included a leisurely brunch in the sun and checking out the updated graf in my fav Bristol haunt - Stokes Croft. Hope you enjoy...
Nice wall in the Croft

This 7 colour stencil was on the Banksy spaceman wall

Bristol part 3

More from the w/e trip to the home of Banksy. This is all from the edgy, bohemian area of Stokes Croft, north of the city centre.
The whole town seems to be anti-Tesco, especially those in the Croft

Reverse graffiti in the car park...

This one's been doing the rounds this week, so I thought I'd chuck it up for anyone who hasn't seen it. Kind of reverse graf (see my previous article on Reverse Graffiti from Sao Paulo posted on 04/05/10) but not so much graf as 'art' in dirt...

GHG Xmas party this year kicked off with a graffiti workshop hosted by Graffiti Kings in a studio in a wicked photographic studio Shoreditch.
K-dawg in action

Someone needed to introduce the team to stencils!

The GHG team

A great time had by all, even those who thought they'd hate it. The afternoon started with lunch and a demonstration, then all the staff spent the afternoon honing their skills and getting drunk. Then the GK pros tidied up our shabby work with some skilled black line-work and highlights. The studio team then painted over the masterpiece while we had secret santa, and we left the studio as we had found it (pristene). Dinner at Boundary in Redchurch finished up was was a very enjoyable and memorable xmas party.

David Walker at Rook & Raven Gallery

Went to the opening of the first solo show by David Walker - Brides on fire -  at the end of last month. Some stunning paintings at the show, and a great turn out. We would have loved to buy one of the large works, but a bit outside our budget (and our flat is too small to do it the justice it deserves. We ended up buying a print of one of the paintings instead, which we love, and got a couple of hand painted masks from David too.

This wall piece was awesome - not for sale though
