Here's some pics she took in April from near her house in Welly. She writes...

"I took these at a derelict site next to the old boys institute swimming pool in Mt Cook, before the site was razed to the ground to make way for a new supermarket - which still hasn't been built due to no resource consent yet - makes ya wonder about the order these things get done
in".

Thanks H, keep 'em coming (and if anyone else has pics they want chucked up, you know where to send em).

Trans-Tasman exchange programme

My pic from Taranaki St, Wellington (about 4-5 years ago)

Blacklodge!!'s pic from Melbourne (this week)

Saw a piece I recognised on blacklodge!!'s flickr this morning. Thought: I recognize that! Looked thru the photos I shot in Wellington about 4 or more years ago, and sure enough...

Interesting how many of our/their artists cross the ditch to make their mark, especially to Melbourne 'cause it's so inspirational. Blacklodge!! shot some of Otis's (Mephisto Jones) in Melbourne last week too. It's up on his flickr site now, check it:

International sevens tournament at Westpac stadium

Wellington has just hosted the annual international sevens tournament in glorious weather over 2 days last week. The tournament has been running there for several years now, and is more of a fancy dress party than a rugby tournament. While some of the best players in the world battle it out on the pitch, the punters party it up in the stands.

Each year the costumes get more and more outrageous. This year was no exception. after much deliberation, I refrained from filling my blog with these pics. You can check them out yourself, but I did love this areal pic of the magnificent Westpac stadium at night.

Wellington by night - Sam Brown

While we're on the nostalgic Wellington theme, I recently had a squizz through our mate Sam's Flickr site, and came across some stunning pics he's done over the last few years. One series that stuck in my mind was his Welly night scene stuff. Great scenes on the wharf, some fabulous city scapes, and these stunning lighthouse beauties.

Thanks for letting me use them Sam, I'll post some more up soon.
