Shepard Fairey goes big in New York
Pulled this off the Wooster Collective site this morning. No info with it, but the scale of this thing is huge. The same style/characters as the piece I shot in Chiswick (of all places). I'll find that shot and chuck it up with this in an update when I remember where I've archived it to. Pic by by Cameron Schiller.

CCTV stencil in Brighton
Wolf stencil Brighton
Cassette Lord in Brighton
More pics from the Brighton trip. Love this guys style and content. The works appear mostly on those electrical box things. Unfortunately shot most of it at night so the pics are a bit ropey, I'll see if I can fix em up in Photoshop, but you get the gist...

Oh those crazy Mexicans...
Been meaning to put these up for a while. Jen & I were in a Mexican restaurant in Angel a while back. Went to the mens and got a surprise: crazy mad Mexican mural on the walls all around the whole bathroom! Bathroom photography is not usually my bag in that if you're not the only one in there you get some pretty damn funny looks from other punters. Anyway, needless to say the shots pic quality is a bit poor, but...
Click on pic to enlargeLove that MexPorn: skeletons, sleaze and smiles.
Oh, and the funny thing is that in the ladies they only have one painting - a donkey with a huge cock!

More stencil work at the ArtRepublic in Brighton
These fine pieces were framing the front window of the ArtRepublic gallery in Brighton. Couldn't quite make out the artists signature, so some help from the audience would be appreciated...

C215 in Brighton
Went down to Brighton with the lovely Jenni for a weekend away and came across some really nice pieces inc. this C215 piece on the wall beside the ArtRepublic gallery. Took a lot of photos down there and will be putting them up as time allows over the next little while, as well as some new stuff from around London and some features from my recent trip back to NZ. Watch this space...

The Wood Green scrawler strikes again...
This guy is prolific in my hood, and scrawls on just about every surface possible along the high street. Haven't seen him marking anywhere alse but wood green, but I'm sure there's probably some more somewhere...

New Monorex/Loveletters bits along Curtain Street
Was on my way down Curtain Road on sunday when I spotted these new pieces up around the Monorex depo in Shoreditch. All the guys are representing, although I'll chuck up some of the others later. Was loosing the light and had to stand in the middle of a really busy road to get the pics, but here's a taster...

new piece in whitehouse street, London EC1
Was working at an agency at the lower end of Old Street the other day, and happened along whitehouse street for a spot of lunch when I came across this wall. Liked it a lot - great simplicity and style, and minimal palette. Not sure who the artist or business is, but nice job...

Rakes album cover project by Work Associates

Work Associates looked to some of the Germanic influences on The Rakes' third album, Klang, to create their entrancing typographic sleeve for the release and the supporting singles. Here's how they did it...
Recorded in a former radio studio in east Berlin (and titled after the German word for "sound") Work based their imagery partly on Bauhaus principles and on colour theorist Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack's 1920s experiments with various apparatus that could generate moving projections of coloured light. His processes were later explained in his booklet, Farben Licht-Spiele.
"Hirschfeld-Mack's idea seemed to convey the appropriate movement to suggest sound in a single image," explains Work's Rob Crane.
This is a nice project based on a great artistic principle, remastered using the technology of today..

So, there are still some Banksy rats around...
Was wondering around the other day and came across a Banksy rat in a very unexpected place. It was in pretty good condition, apart from some cock tagging over it (see my rant from about 2 months ago on this point) in a fairly un-trafficed area. Check it out if you're going down White Church Lane in E1.

Gorellaume on the streets around Europe
Got a heads up from a mate who'd come across a body of interesting work and fed me the link. It's hard to tell exactly who is behind the work as the bio page has a 404 error, but I'll check back in a few days. I'm guessing it's a French guy or collective, but what ever - there's some great work that spans the spectrum of murals to stickers, environmental to sculpture. Mostly it has a slightly dark undertone, but we like that...

Senor X new body of work and new website
Wake yp your taste (click on image to enlarge)Sr.X from Spain has just released some new works on his spanking new website. Nice simple gallery site where the work is split into outdoor/indoor/more/contact, and in Spanish and English (for those of us who've been to Spain a number of times but who's Spanish is, well, shite!)
This is a nice bit on his contact page -
Born in the Interzone, now in Gijón, Spain.
You can mail him or post a comment in his Flickr or Blog,
then he can save your soul... if you want.
