Came across this new piece the other night. Fantastic technique - almost 3-d. Not sure who the artist is, but would love to see some more of their work.

Pop Lives, Pagan Hearts is Copyrights 2012 solo show and sees him exploring the pop elements of his work the bright colours and repetition, but combining this with mythological narratives at the same time.

Loved these too but the one I liked most had already been sold

This was lovely too.

Caught up with Copyright during the show

Caught up with him during the show, and (as always) that was an absolute pleasure. Sorry about the quality of the photos tho chap.

The show is curated by Newcastle based Zero Cool Gallery, their second show in a week, so congratulations also to Anthony for all the hard work - it paid off.

Congratulations also to Charlie from Pure Evil Gallery, who was unable to attend the opening due to the arrival of his baby daughter Bunny.

Zero Cool show Cranio at Red Bull Studio

Went to the opening of Cranio 'Lost in London' last night. Not as big as the shows Zero Cool usually host there, but a great show none the less. Got to meet Fabio Oliveira aka Cranio, a lovely artist from Brazil having his first show here, and had a quality night.

Moniker 2012 highlight

Just thought I'd start this one off with the highlight, and roll out pics and stories out afterward.
Highlight: Catching up with our graf hero C215, grabbing a pic with him, chucking it up on FaceBook, and him liking it. Awesome.

Joe Black - Workers of the world unite!
I saw what I thought was this piece a few years ago at Moniker,
but the date on this one was 2012, so guess it must be a new one.
Still love it though - great concept and execution, a powerful piece.

Urban Masters at Hearn St car park Pt2

As promised, the next installation from the excellent exhibition at Hearn St car park... Sorry some of these photos are a bit rubbish - it was very hard shooting in this environment allowing for the various light sources, but you get the idea. I'll chuck up a link with the gallery (Opera Gallery) that organised the exhibition, and you can search through their online catalogue for studio shot pics.

 Banksy - Kill Mom? (detail) 200cm x 200cm.
This was done on a piece of old corrugated card and was POA...

 MAC1 - La bellenoiseuse

Blek le Rat - Mona

Rona - That's the way (it should have begun but it's hopeless)

Mentalgassi - Subway (Lenticular)

Urban Masters at Hearn St car park pt3

The next 3 posts are all going to feature work from this weekends Urban Masters show. Here is the intro from LeCool, to give you a brief overview... Set in a "fittingly urban" setting - a former Victorian factory in Shoreditch - the Opera Gallery & ANV have invited 33 big names (Blek le Rat, Shepard Fairy, Nick Walker to name a few) along to show what's what when it comes to urban art. The show's all about paying homage to those who've inspired the artists: from art masters from history, to masterpieces, and current muses - and they're not doing it by halves. Expect your senses to be overwhelmed with works spanning from canvasses, installations, moving art, photography, pop-art, and street art. Surprises come as standard. Also: free posters for anyone heading down on November the 9th along with a public book signing (11am-7pm) makes the show a winner..

C215 - Girl

David Shillinglaw

Shepard Fairey - Duality of humanity 1

GRIS1/DMV

Zezao - Pluvial Waters

Nick Gentry - Memorial FB (on floppy dicks)

Blek le Rat - Dancer

Sowat - (unsure of the title)

Zeus - Love, crash and burn

Joe Black - (Unsure of the title, but it's made of hundreds
of hand made badges featuring a variety of scenes - mainly porn)

Joe Black (detail)

Joe Black (detail)

Risk - Something cookin'

Rone - I don't care (I'd rather sink than call Rone for help)

Zeus - Love, crash and burn

 Kan - Le bain d'Ingres

I'll feature more from this great show over the next few posts, stay tuned...
